| About
AIDS Concern AIDS Concern is a registered charity and non-governmental volunteer organisation that offers AIDS support and prevention programs to the Hong Kong community. Founded in 1990 by a group of volunteers, we were the first community-based organisation to respond to the local HIV/AIDS problem. We deliver AIDS prevention programmes and support services for people living with AIDS. Our services are based on the GIPA principle (Greater Involvement of People Living with AIDS and Affected communities): we believe that the active participation of the people we serve can result in more appropriate and effective services. Our three outreach-prevention programmes target men who have sex with men (MSM), cross-border travellers, and workers and customers in the local sex industry. Our AIDS prevention programme for MSM has received international recognition from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS.) The organisation is funded by income from fund-raising events, donations and grants. The Hong Kong government's AIDS Trust Fund provides funding for one-off projects. PATRONS |
