WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO TO?

SERVICE DELIVERY

Our service delivery emphasis is on proactive work, going into the community and delivering interventions; every evening we have staff working in saunas, brothels, nightclubs, border checkpoints, HIV/safer sex counselling and free, anonymous confidential HIV antibody testing. AIDS is not only a gay issue; we work with heterosexual, bi and gay people and we support people of every race and culture.

*The following figures are based on an analysis of our expenditure in the year 2000.

PREVENTION PROGRAMMES
54% goes towards the prevention of the spread of AIDS. We have three on-going outreach programmes targeting cross-border travellers, men who have sex with men and the local sex industry. We also conduct publicity and education campaigns such as our Valentine's Day Safer Sex Love Bus, and our Condom Postcard Design Competition.

SUPPORT SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH HIV/AIDS
32% goes to support members of the Hong Kong community who are living with HIV/AIDS. We provide a soup delivery service, free transport service, community development programme and events such as day trips and social activities for patients, rice dumpling delivery for the Dragon Boat Festival and mooncake delivery for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

ADMINISTRATION STAFF
As well as depending upon a network of volunteers who give their time for free, we have just two full-time admin staff who account for 14% of our total staff budget.

TOTAL EXPENDITURE

Total expenditure last financial year was $3,116,629.46.
